Lubbock Activities

Lubbock hosted some fun events over this past Thurs and Friday. On Thurs Christiane and I attended the Chamber of Commerce BBQ on Broadway. It was a BBQ lovers dream. $10 for all you can eat smoked BBQ ribs, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, and stuffed jalepenos. I could smell the smoke from 5 blocks away where I parked. It was a great evening in the hub city with great friends and awesome weather.
On Friday night there was a free concert at the Fair Park Coliseum. It was none other than the legendary Eddie Money. Me and my buddy Eric were able to get 8th row seats. Eddie Money played all of his classic hits including: Two Tickets to Paradise and Shakin'. One funny highlight of the show, Eddie said, "I hope Texas Tech beats the **** outta Kansas tomorrow". He got it wrong. We play Houston.

10702 Orlando Ave- Framing Progress

This biggun is coming along nicely. All of the special ceilings are joisted. The most impressive is the double box ceiling in the master bedroom. The living room vault will be framed Monday and then we will start seeing the 10/12 roof ! Should be an exciting upcoming week of framing on Orlando.

4012 107th Street- 3rd car garage

Monday morning the sun was shining down on the 3rd car garage slab.

Friday afternoon the garage was bricked and roofed.

The front porch cedar was also completed this week.

9208 Genoa- Framing Progress

All of the walls and ceiling joists are up on Genoa. The framer has started framing the roof over the garage and the remainder of the roof and decking will go on this week. Im looking forward to getting the roof dried in so that we can start working on the inside.

9208 Genoa- Walls Up

All of the perimeter walls are up on Genoa. I look for some serious framing progress this coming week. The owners were by today and had a chance to meet several of their future neighbors. I think they chose one of the best streets in Lubbock. Its on a quiet 5 house cul-de-sac with lots of kids and close to everything in town.

10702 Orlando- Walls up

All of the walls and some of the ceilings are installed on Orlando. I look for all of the ceilings to be complete this coming week. I look forward to seeing this massive 10/12 roof come together. Should be a dandy.

4012 107th Blitz Week

This week at 4012 was like something seen on ABC's Extreme Make Over with out Ty Pennington of course. In one weeks time, the A/C system was installed, the brick and stone were started and completed, the electrical system was roughed-in, the fireplace was installed, the 3rd car garage slab was poured, the chimney stucco was intalled and the standing seam metal roof was completed. Next week will bring insulation and sheet rock.

9208 Genoa- Ready for Slab Pour

I took Ava over to help me inspect the slab backfill a couple nights ago. She was not a happy camper. I think all the dirt piles scared her. She later gathered herself up to inspect my storm water silt fences. She said they were OK and gave me a green tag. The slab will be poured Tuesday morning.

4012 107th Street Framing Progress

The elevation is taking shape. Tomorrow the roof decking will be installed.
I anticipate the brick to be installed starting next Monday.

The rough cut cedar entrance is my favorite part of this house.

9208 Genoa Plumbing Rough In

The plumbing is installed and ready for the slab to be filled and poured.
